After earning her BFA, and a subsequent distinguished alumna award at the University of Illinois; and after a successful illustration career, Cathie Bleck’s publisher monograph “Open Spaces” (2006), followed by two solo museum exhibitions at The Butler and The New Britain Museums of American Art. Bleck’s work, at various unrestricted scales, in ink, clay-pigments and graphite, explore interconnected forms and transformative symbols, derived from a rich engagement with the natural world. Her work has been exhibited extensively, including recent Chicago shows “Immersion” (2019), “Avance” (2017), "frAGILITY" (2013). Her work is in the Victoria and Albert Museum in London.
