Confident Assurance is created with latex paint on canvas, which dries with some subtle dimension. The canvas is stretched on a pine frame, is signed by the artist on the back of the canvas, and was completed in 2018. The painting is a diptych; the top piece represents the sky and horizon line and the bottom piece represents a waterscape. The top piece measures 48”L x 1”W x 24”H while the bottom measures 48”L x 1”W x 66”H. They hang from two D-rings which have been secured on the back of each piece.

Hilary Gent is a painter who works with oil and latex mediums, inspired by the urban and natural landscape. Her paintings are inspired by the extensive color palettes from reflections of light, landscape and other objects in and on the water. Touch, sound and sight conjure a personal connection with landscape, which Gent translates into her paintings.
