Recent paintings are interpretations of water, especially focused on the Rocky River and Lake Erie. I attempt to translate the movement and ever changing moods of water into my process, through color choices and paint application. 

Layers take shape through the action of pouring paint onto the canvas while it’s flat. I do not move or manipulate the canvas during the pouring process, but instead allow the paint to (semi) dry and then create additional layers. Sherwin Williams latex paint is my medium of choice; its consistency and wide range of colors is a perfect fit for these works. The act of pouring is also therapeutic as I am continually moving around the canvas, mimicking the ebb and flow of water.
