Hilary Gent is a painter who works with oil and latex mediums, inspired by the urban and natural landscape. This specific oil painting is from the artist’s Aftermath series, a body of work that represents a progression in abstraction with influence of personal experience. The play of light and shadow on architecture and scenery are relevant, and invented colors and shapes imply a narrative rather than an actual place.

Truth Emerged was exhibited in 2014 at Maria Neil Art Project in Cleveland, and at HEDGE Gallery in 2015. This is the last of two paintings in this series, as all others are in public and private collections.
