This painting was completed in 2019, and is featured in HEDGE Gallery’s current solo exhibition of Gallagher’s work, Research and Development. The artist has been heavily influenced by the physics of sound to create this specific work. The background of the painting is solid black, and the lines that have each been painted on the surface are various colors, with some subtle build up of texture with the acrylic paint.

This medium sized painting would add an elegant sense of modern design to any setting.

Matthew Gallagher is a multi disciplinary artist who uses paint, ink, encaustic, and natural materials to map the expression of his physical processes. Gallagher reveals properties of our environment that wouldn’t otherwise be apparent, empowering people to experiment and play with their own surroundings. Their thought-provoking work can be found in many private and permanent collections in Northeast Ohio and nationally. Gallagher graduated from Oberlin College in 2013, and currently works in their Cleveland art and performance studio.
